  1. i dont think u can really prevent it coz its natural and every baby has it by birth.it goes away on its own so dont try to scratch it or fiddle wid it...all u can do is gently massage ur baby's head wid baby oil, leave it for  a while and den brush it gently with a baby brush

  2. Nothing really, its just normal for all babies. try rubbing a lil baby oil on his head and it should slide out while u are combing his hair. that what I do for my baby and it works

  3. actually you can do something to help prevent or help clear up cradle cap.

i always got a cradle cap brush from the hospital in my bag of goodies.

    you can buy them too

you use it when washing your babies hair. after you get the shampoo lathered up rub this brush around their scalp. it's soft, but just enough exfoliating to help w/the flakiness.

  4. I don't think you can prevent it. It happens like alot of things to a baby, like a diaper rash or acne, but it's another thing that will go away eventually.

  5. My son had a pretty bad case of cradle cap when he was smaller but now it's totally cleared up.  I used a treatment by Gentle Naturals (it's available at Wal-Mart) on his scalp about 10 minutes before his bath, every other bath (it was rather greasy and tended to not be completely rinsed out even when I thought it was), in combination with a texturized terry cloth mitt made by Safety 1st.  However, I have to say what I think was the biggest reason why it's gone away and not come back is the fact that I would make sure to rinse all the shampoo residue from his hair.  I'd rinse it with bath water and then re-rinse it with clean tap water that I put in a little bucket as I was running his bath.

  6. i have an almost 6 month old daughter and this works for me.try to make sure you rinse the hair properly when washing it.wash hair everyday and make sure to dry it thoroughly.use shampoo that are not soap based.just remember that cradle cap is caused by oily hair and dry skin so baby gets it just rub some baby oil on the area and comb gently before washing.cradle cap doesnt mean you neglect the baby so dont feel bad if it happens.

  7. you don't and it's not that big of a deal it will eventually go away- sometimes my 2 year old niece still gets it but it doesn't bother her- it more bother my sister- luckily my son's disappeared at about 6 months but neither of them had it bad. it's due to overactive sebaceous glands

  8. keep your baby's hair washed and oil free.  But sometimes the baby develops it anyway. who knows?
