How do you prevent a cheap Styrofoam cooler from leaking water?

  1. try not to poke any holes into it.


  2. You can line it with a big plastic bag from the dry cleaners, or heavy duty aluminum foil (also keeps it cooler in there) ... bag the ice in freezer baggies....

  4. Try double-bagging the ice in zip-locks before you put it in the cooler.  Might help.

  5. Just buy a real cooler!They last longer and only leak when you pull the plug.

  6. Expense for a cheap cooler is an issue.

    Like everyone else, trash bag in the cooler.

  7. When I use these coolers I line them first with a small kitchen trash bag so what ever leaks out won't spill all over the place...makes for easy clean up as well
