How do you prevent & control cramps when running

How can I prevent them, and if I do get them while running how can i control it so i wont be in pain & have to stop running and?

  1. while you are running, just lean forward a little bit to ease the pain so your not exerting too much energy.  when you get cramps while running, just run through the pain and breathe deep once or twice. running through the pain is the best way to prevent future cramps, and it strengthens your core muscles. NEVER STOP RUNNING BECAUSE OF A CRAMP! its not good 4 your muscles!

  3. Where are you getting the cramps?

    A lot of times cramps can come from improper hydration or they can be a result of drinking soda...

    They can also be just your muscles getting tired...

    What works for me usually is squeezing the spot (light pressure) for a few seconds... the pain usually lessens... and I never stop running. The pain will go away quicker if you continue along running.

  4. what rlly helps me is putting pressure on it WHILE exhaling deeply. i do that a few times and i feel a lot better. :-) havnt figured out how to get rid of shoulder cramps tho...lol. good luck! :-)
