How do you prevent nail polish from hardening and gooey?

I buy a bottle of nail polish.Then four months later when i want to use the nail polish the nail polish itself has "webs" attaching when i try to apply the nail polish to my nails.Any way to prevent it instead of buying a new bottle of that same color nail polish?

DO NOT use polish remover! Remover is what you use to take off polish. It eats polish! Why would you put that in the bottle? That makes no sense!!!! Buy some d**n polish THINNER!!!!
