How do you prevent or kill does insects that are attracted to heat and light??

Every night, usually when its really hot and humid in LA, these black insects fly towards my light bulb and just stay in there and when I turn my lights off, they come attack my computer screen. Please help on any way I can get rid of them....It really annoying and scary. And what are they called?

Place a basin of water under your lights.  The insects will see the reflection of the light in the water and think that it is light be fly towards it.  They will be drown in the water instead.

you could get a bug zapper or that Cintranella stuff you light. I heard LA is filled with all kinds of insects, so there could be many different kinds...and honey, dont be scared of bugs, You are way bigger.
