How do you print posters, and...?

I'd like to be able to print posters, one for advertising, and two for jokes. Anyway, it seems as if my printer runs out of ink (to the point of dull prints) after around 20-25 normal color prints on plain 8 1/2 x 11 paper. This I use for school purposes, such as essays and such homework assignments. I'd like to know how to print on larger paper, and I'd like to know what sort of printer I'm looking at.

You are looking at a very expensive printer to be able to print wider than 8.5 x 11.  Arounf $500 and up for a printer capable of printing 11 x 17.   I would recommend going to a print shop to have this done.  You can get a large 11 x 17 page printed for about $1.00 per page.
