How do you produce safety-critical software ?

Won't the temptation be too great, tempting you to release incorrect and unsafe software, which you hope no one will notice is incorrect and unsafe till after you have been promoted out of the organization ?

IF history serves us well, then we know that we should not create perfect software or we would run ourselves out of business. Create the perfect software but you should create glitches within it that only you have the fix for. Then make them pay for the upgrade once they have upgraded you out of the business.

There is no reason to make it perfect unless you just really love being on the bottom of the ladder. You will never get ahead if you don't save some glory for yourself and ensure your future through creating things that requiring fixing that only you have the control to fix.

The only reason to have a concious over it is if peoples lives are involved and your mistake could ultimately kill someone.

Many plans were created that were not perfect. If you are creating them and worrying that they may be wrong on accident then I wouldn't worry. The fact is that all countries, all nations were built upon make shift ground work where it was understood by all that nothing is perfect and everything would later need changing. Even when writing a novel, a writer will write many versions of each chapter trashing each one before he decides which one will work. Then it is still a gamble. He could have trashed a version that the public would have bought and would have made him thousands more dollars than what he did.

Many inventions were created and destroyed where many people behind that inventor came behind them and perfected it later, somtimes hundreds of years later. The creations are needed even if they aren't perfect.

The production of safety critical software must be sound, ethical and resistant to any experimental challenging from aggressors and the vigilant alike.

Unethical conduct and a presumption of others oblivious inability to discern ones motivation leads to inevitable disaster. This blinkered thinking has disaffected many programs and projects and gestational stage.

The wise presume all are fully aware of intent. If there are perceived flaws on ones software it is preferable to analyse why the issues are contentious and ill received and seek to amend or remedy these conflicts than seeking to deceive or mislead.

Morality in business and one’s personal conduct is essential if one is to attain ones distinction in successes. One cannot be justified in seeking to pervert the moral code whilst demanding ethical conscientiousness from one’s peers and affiliates.

An expose of one’s maladministration leads to an anti –trust stance by one’s peers resulting in one having to struggle to achieve goals and agendas one accomplishes with relative ease when in the benefaction and grace of one’s associates.
