  1. dude thats where i was born

    mar -- lee -- bone!

  2. Mar - lee - bone

  3. Marri ler bone

  4. As a London taxi driver who takes people there several times a day, I'd say 8 out of ten people pronounce it:

    Marry  le  Bone.

Other pronunciations include: Mara leh  Bone, particularly with the well heeled part of society  the Mara part reads as Masai Mara, as in the tribe.

This is an observation only, and not necessarily my way of pronouncing it.

  5. Marry-leh-bon (bone is also common usage too).

This comes from the thirteenth century and takes it's name from the church in the vicinity called St Mary-by-the-Tyburn, or as it would have been pronounced in French, the language of the aristocracy/landed classes, St Mary-a-le-Bourne (a bourne or burn being a small river or stream).

  6. Paddington.

    (Apologies).

  7. "Mar - Le - Bon"

Thats how I say it, and I'm from North West London. I have family in the East End of London and they say it the same as me too.

  8. q.  Answerers who put 'le' in the middle, is that pronounced like the first syllable in 'lemon', or like the french word for 'the'? Leh, or luh?

    A. L as in lemon. E as in he

Could also be pronounced marlee-bone, bear in mind accents vary greatly so most pronounciations are understood.

  9. The most commonly used/heard pronunciation for Marylebone these days is MAR-LEE-BONE or MAR-LE-BON
