  1. russianthug you are a knuclehead. you are actually a bit of a coward as well hiding away in your own little tospot world.

  2. quite tricky to describe but...

the a is pronounced as in "far"

the o is pronounced as in "oomph"

blend them together, make it a very smooth transition, the a should be slightly longer than the other vowel sounds (there is usually a sign indicating an elongated vowel in maori language)

    roll the r

    the i is pronounced ee

EDIT: Most people WILL pronounce the first part to rhyme with how, and won't roll the r, but its wrong.

  3. Mow reee is how I remember how they pronounced it when I was over there over 25 years ago.

  4. Well, I pronounce it Maa o ree, but the politically correct way is Morrrree.

  5. Ma-au-li (roll your tongue on the "li")

    Ma (like Margarine)

    Au (like Autopsy)

Li (like the L sound in Moldy)

But you'll probably hear everyone else say it "mar-ee" by everyone else I mean the non-maori peoples of NZ.

  6. Maori's pronounce it correctly and it sounds like they're saying "mouldy" when they say it, without the "L".

The rest of us tend just to say "Mowree", mow sounding like cow the animal, not mow the lawn

  7. I've heard Maori people pronounce it "Ma-au-ree" but really quickly, so that the first two syllables almost blend.

  8. If you're after the correct pronounciation of the Maori language and not only the word Maori as such, please check this site: http://wikitravel.org/en/Maori_phraseboo...

  9. Just how it looks:  Mao-ree.

  10.    mar-ee

  11. May-or-ee

  12. Kia ora.

This site may help (not sure if the pronunciation of the word Mäori is there but it will give you lots of tips on language and pronunciation of it in general.)

  13. MOW (rhymes with cow) REE

    MOW-REE

    They're great people!

  14. Same way as pronunciation of Bahasa.

    Ma-o-ri.

  15. Depends. You could say it like : Moldy but replace the d for a r or you could say it like: mau-ree

  16. Mow (rhymes with how) ree.

  17. Mao ( as in Mao Zedong) and Ri ( as in REE)

  18. MAUUU-REE, or like a meeeow without the ee
