Project for my history class. Don't wanna look like a complete idiot.

I know that the "Qin" part is pronounced like "Che" or "Chi". But the rest is a bit confusing and I cannot find anything on how to pronounce it. Help?

  1. Chin shee whong (who+wong) dee.

You may drop the "di" if you wish.  In fact, he's known more as Qin s**+ Huang than Qin s**+ Huangdi.  They both mean the same thing: the first emperor of the Qin dynasty.

Here's a You Tube video.  You'll hear the pronunciation at 00:58, 01:32, 01:46, 01:51, 02:05, 02:16, 02:23, and etc.  If you keep watching the lecture, you'll keep hearing the pronunciation.

    Good luck on your project.

  2. Pronounce it like this:

    Qin like 'chin'

s**+ like 'ship' but without the 'p'

    Huang like 'hwang'

    Di like 'dee'

    Hope that helps!

  3. i think its kin she hwang dee
