  1. I´m with pink panther and Tod on the pronounciation although I want to add a very odd variety of the german language, it´s the Hunsrückerisch, spoken in the low mountain range of the hunsrück in the midwest of Germany, west of the Rhein-Main-Area and south of Cologne. They don´t have the word "love" in the dialect so they say

    "Eisch hon disch geere"

    :-D

  2. leebe is right what people have said. The "ch" in German varies depending on where you are at.

In most cases, however, the 'ch' in German is much like the sound at the beginnning of the name "Hugh"

It is like a rough 'h' in this word.

See this site for more detail and examples:

    http://www.ex.ac.uk/german/abinitio/pron...

    Also:

    German (Standard) ich liebe Dich

    German (Bayerisch) I lieb di

    German (Bernisch) Ig liebe di

German (Hessisch) Isch habb disch libb

    German (Schwyzerdütsch) Ich liäbä Dich

  3. It's pronounce Ish Leebe dish, and sounds like Issh Leeeebeh Dissh.

  4. neither, really, but closer to the second. You need to make a noise at the back of your throat , almost like gargling, with those "ch"s, as in the "loch" of Scotland.

  5. Hiya :-) ! Yep, I totally agree with Pink Panther. Am also "quite" fluent in German. The "Ik"-version is more Dutch-like. The accent is on the "lee"-syllable. I think the link below will help you hugely with all this confusion LOL. You can listen to the words :-) . "Ich" falls under the 2nd chapter, with "Blech". Good luck :-) !

  6. ik leebe dik

'ish leebe dish' is only for those who can't pronounce the 'ik' correctly.  it should be pronounced similar to a scouser saying 'like' - if you know how that sounds!!

  7. How do I pronounce it? Ish leebeh dish of course. The dialect/pronunciation varies a bit according to region.

  8. ch like u have something in the back of your throat! chhh chhh        ich leebe dicchhhh

  9. eeg liebe deeg the g is soft inthe back of the troat  certainly not like a kk is ss

  10. Well, none of the above actually ich  and dich have a hard 'g' a little like the 'g'in egg, but certainly not pronounced as a 'k' or 'sh'.  Leebe is not right too, if you say it that way it would mean 'life'. the 'ie' should be pronounced more like a short 'e' as in me! It's hard to explain, too bad we can't make voice samples here!

    Good luck!

  11. The best way to pronounce it is simply to kiss the person.

  12. ik leebe dik
