  2. the letter "c" at the the begining of a word has the "k.sound at the end of a word it has a "P" sound ..you'll see the sign HOC TOC all over.. it means hair cut/ barber shop... its pronounced hop top..."read" is spelled "doc" and pronounced "dop" ...get yourself a vn language tape at any us libray.. the 1st lesson is almost always pronunciation of the alphabet... most of the time the letters are very similare to western pronunciation but similare doesnt get it.. exact pronunciation is critical in speaking vn...

  3. The letter "c", you mean?  "c" has the English "k" sound and only precedes "a", "u" and "o" and their off-shoots like ă, â, Æ¡, ô, Æ° and the tones.

    ca=to sing, cá=fish, cà=egg plant, cỏ=grass, cò=stork, etc..

    There is also "ch", which sounds almost like the English "ch".
