  1. In Irish Gaelic, "si" is SHEE or SHEH or SHA or SHU,

depending on the letters around it.

"o" is often silent, and "bh" is a "V" sound.

The name "Siobhan" sounds like "Shavawn" [or SHEH vahn],

and is equivalent to the name "Janet".

(Disclaimer! _Exactly_ how it's pronounced by an Irishman will depend on where that person is from.)

  2. s**+-von.

  3. Everyone above is correct to a certain extent.

It is an Irish Gaelic name but the way it is pronounced depends on your own accent. My name is Siobhan, my grandma (who is irish) pronounces it s**+-vawn. Which sounds a bit nasal due to the fact that the name was sometimes written as Siobhãn.......This "ã" makes the nasal "vawn" sound.

I prefer to pronounce my name as s**+-von because i do not write my name with "ã" and thats how people in my region say it.

  4. It’s pronounced “shiv-awn”, like Chevonne, but with more of an “ive” sound instead of “ev”.

  5. sho VAHN

  6. Sh - iv - Or - n
