I had a friend in school with that exact last name. She pronounced it Doo-bee. :)

That depends upon the pronunciation the person with that name prefers to use.  So ask him/her and use that pronunciation when dealing with that person.

I went to a Navy technical school with a girl named Norma Dube, and she pronounced it doo-bee.  It was kind of funny that whenever she made a suggestion about how to do something in class our instructor would say something like "Thank you for your suggestion, Miss Dube, but that would be a very dubious technique."   LOL

This is a French surname.  It is pronounced Doo* + bay

(*not exactly like the english word "to do" but more like the du in dune  ALSO, don't stress the y in bay too much)
