  1. The pronounciations given are correct, both words have stress on the first syllable. But the translations are a bit inaccurate.

    muh dreh neh (mødrene) - the mothers

    feh dreh neh (fedrene) - the fathers

    Fedres does not exist, but fedre means fathers. Hence:

    Fedre = fathers

    Fedrene = the fathers

    Mødre = mothers

    Mødrene = the mothers

    What you look for is the word "foreldre"

    Foreldre -  fore el dreh - parents

    Foreldrene - fore el dreh neh - the parents.

    Both these words have stress on the second syllable.

    Adding "ene" or "ne" at the end of a word in plural is normally equivalent to putting a "the" in front in English, but often you also have to remove an "r".

    Gutt - boy, gutter - boys, guttene - the boys

  2. muh dreh neh (mødrene) - mothers

    feh dreh neh (fedrene) - fathers

    Fedres doesnt mean anything in norwegian.
