How do you pronounce the "Muay", in Muay Thai?

Just to be sure.... I hate pronouncing things wrong!

I just call it thai boxing myself, but because I train in it... I'd like to know how it's pronounced exactly.

There are a lot of different pronunciations here. Guess it's a "to-may-to" vs. "to-mah-to" thing.

I have pronounced it "m-way" since I heard it on Human Weapon on the History Channel.

It is impossible to give the correct pronunciation of Thai words by using the Roman alphabet, but I'll try!

MOY-TIE is the most common way of saying it, though there loads of variations. Check out that sound file from the guy above.

It can be pronounced moy tie, or moo-E tie, or Ive even heard moon -tie(from bloodsport)
