I looked up the word 'devil' in an English-to-Russian translator. But... I can't read the text. Can someone please tell me the pronunciation of the word, and its direct meaning? The text is below:

энергичный

Thanks!

  1. энергичный = [znyair-geech-niy] = devil; it also means "energetic" or "peppy."

  2. If my boyfriend was here I'd ask him. He's fluent in Russian or German one. Sorry though he's working.

  3. That's actually a pretty odd word. You'd be better off saying "ДЬЯВОЛ" (diavol) for "devil". It's a more common word.

Pronounce it in two syllables: dya {"d'yeah"} + vol {"val" with the "a" from "call"}.  The emphasis is on the first syllable.

This is also the word for devil in Romanian and very similar to the italian "diavolo".

Or you can say "черт". This is one single syllable and sounds like "chair't".

  4. It is pronounced as follows:

    Karpovolavich

  5. Ehepernyehbin
