I have a lot of open tubes of toothpaste that need to be thrown out. Do I squeeze them into the sink and down the drain or throw the full tubes in the trash??

  1. Why don't you just use the rest of the paste and then just throw them away ?

and stop buying so many at one time

P.S. if the paste is made in CHINA Don't even use it .

May be  thats your problem your getting so sick from it you can't even throw away your trash !

This question is all most stupid

  2. Put them in the trash.  Toothpaste isn't a hazardous substance, but it will do less harm in a landfill than in the water system.

  3. Take them camping with you to feed to the bears.

I find the curiosity of our party is pretty well satisfied with respect to this animal."

  4. Why do you have so many open tubes to dump out, and why are you dumping them out and not using them up?  I would put the tube in the trash as there are enough chemicals in the water system as it is.

  5. I would just throw them out.

but why not finish using them to the end??  toothpaste doesn't go off.  (well I've certainly used 10 year old toothpaste before, with no adverse effects.)(it doesn't happen very often ok ;-)  )

  6. yes that sounds ok but if the paste goes via your mouth first you will save on tooth paste ,that stuff does not go bad .

Fill tubes in the trash sounds worse

that is more chemicals in to the environment in concentrated form

if they still look good why not give them to the very poor.

  7. If they are made of plastic, I put them in the recycle.

  8. I am pretty certain that toothpaste is considered a non-hazardous solid waste everywhere in the United States, but that may be a question for your local solid waste authority.  Whatever you do, don't flush it down a toilet or a drain - personal care products (PCPs) are becoming one of the greatest items of concern in wastewater treatment.  Many treatment facilities are unable to treat these materials before they are discharged back into the environment.  As for recycling the tube, you might be doing more harm than good, unless you clean the tubes out REALLY well.  With a little bit of toothpaste on the inside, the tube will actually become a contaminant to the recycler.  Your best option may just be to throw it away, and let it find its way to the nearest landfill.

  9. why you wanna get rid of sometn that s still good to use?

  10. use up what you have but if you insist on getting rid of it then yes it is perfectly safe and legal to dispose of toothpaste in the sink but I would flush it in the toilet that volume of tooth paste may clog the sink drain(seriously)Or you can just toss the tube and left over paste into the garbage
