gosh, thats it at 0:43min isnt it? just like a martini glass that you wet the rim and dip it in salt? do you just pour salt on a plate and dip it in upside down or what? is there a tidier way to do it without wasting a plate of salt? - yeah, i know its cheap but thats not the point..

i hate making a mess and wasting things lol

  1. Don't use regular table salt...the kind you use on food.

You need to use kosher or the equivalent in texture.

Whatever salt you don't use...store it in another container to use again on another glass at another time.

  2. Rub the lime softly around the glass, pour salt ( smallest ones )

on the plate turn the glass down and move your hand abit , life the glass up and shake just a bit so the saly that not stick with the lime gone and your glass will look nice and ready for magarita

  3. Pour a ring of salt onto a small plate.  I use sea salt.  Rub a piece of lime around the rim of your glass to get it wet, then turn your glass upside down into the ring of salt.  You can move the glass around a little to gather the salt.  This way you don't waste it.  Salt is fairly cheap anyway.

  4. I keep salt in a bowl, wipe the rim of the glass with the lime to wet it. Dip the glass into the salt, turn it about 1/4 turn and back.

When I get done with the salt, I cover the bowl. No mess, no waste, etc.

  5. use kosher salt in a small plate, run your lime slice around the rim then dip

  6. If you dont want to waste a plate of salt you can dip the glass into the salt container otherwise just do it.  You should probably dip the glass in alcohol or some liquid first so the salt will stick.

  7. Rub a lime around the rim first so the salt sticks. Salt's the cheapest thing ever; just pour some on a small plate and dip. You can also buy special salt in a tub just for this purpose.

Don't dip your glass into your whole salt supply; it will add moisture that will make the salt taste funny if you use it later.

Why not just snag a salt shaker from a local fast food place if you're so  hung about 'wasting salt.'

  8. Pour rock salt in a plate and wet the rim of the margarita, then dip it in the plate upside-down. After that, just pour the margarita into the glass and enjoy!

  9. You use a lime slice and run it around the rim of the glass - a MARGARITA glass. Martini glasses are for Martinis. I also prefer mine in a pint glass - awesome!

Run the lime around the rim, then swirl in kosher salt (available in any grocery store). They make holders for salt and sugar in any good bar/kitchen store - then you are just keeping all the salt in there. If you don't have one, you need a plate.

After salted, you need to fill glass with ice - make margarita in a shaker and pour over (ice in glass)  while straining the ice in the shaker.

OR blended - no ice in salted glass, pour blended margarita into salted glass.

Always garnish with a slice of lime! A straw is nice too - thicker one (like McDonalds straws) if making blended. Otherwise - cocktail straw is fine.
