How do you protect VCR tapes from gettin accidentaly erased?

I accidentaly erased one when trying to copy it to a DVD. I think I copied the blank DVD over the tape!

  1. pull the little tab on the end -- the label says how to do that. It makes it read only.

  3. you break out the little square tab on edge of vhs tape. if u later want to record again just put some scotch tape to cover where the tab was.
