I'm moving into a new apartment and the bedroom already has blue carpet. My bedroom furniture is a dark wood with black marble table tops and the headboard is black marble. How can I tie these together? What would be the best color for the walls?

  1. a blue that matches the carpet. blue and black go together and the marble would be more of an accent color. then u could use black blinds it evens helps with keeping out sunlight

  2. white. and you should get a comforter with a black blue and white pattern

  3. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a light gray like "worldly gray" (# 7043) would combine the blue & black really well. You could also add an area rug like one of these:

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  4. Maybe add a quote or graphic to your walls in a black and blue similar to the two colors you are coordinating.

I just installed a transfer decal I ordered from www.thesimplestencil.com and they have some great ideas. I ordered another one for my daughters dorm room because we both agree it will add some drama to her otherwise boring walls. They don't have to be painted either just peeled off when she moves out. I hope this helps. Good luck.

  5. Since you only have 2 colors, it is always easy to add a 3rd color to tie everything together. Since your two main colors are dark, maybe put a lighter, pastel, or brighter color on your walls. If you really don't feel like repainting, put colored pillows, picture frames, mirrors, etc. around your room to tie in the look. These colors wouldn't look bad:

    *light blue

    *light green

    *An earthy tone

Or you can think of other colors.

Also, to make the room more vibrant and exciting, use bright colors.

  6. Black and blue go together quite well. Paint the colors any color really, I think almost any color would work.

  7. get pillows for your bed that are the color of the carpet, same with window treatments

  8. helo, if you havent already done so, go to a paint shop that deals in only paint and other products on the decorating subject and look at their colour charts listed for interior paint, some of them have finnished rooms painted out as an example in most colour ranges, if you cant work it out from there you can get colour testers that are free unless they have changed that deal and you can paint sections of your walls to see if you like it before buying a whole can, one word of warning though before u do a repaint it pays to start with a sealer with your desired tint colour in it and remember the colours on a paint chart is the colour in its dried state, dont freak out that while the paint is wet that it will appear to be to lite , compared to what u chose, cheers peter.

  9. your walls are gray.light gray..your curtains would be multiple colors of hot pink, black and blue. you get a gray rug with the pink, black and blue colors on the trim of the rug. the curtains also would be these colors.then brighten up the room with bright flowers and pictures with just a touch, very little touch of these colors. mix other bright things to match.. it will be beautiful...trust me. sorry, didnt know what color your floor was.. hope it is wood.lt would fit in good.. hope this helps

  10. white walls would look nice and then curtains of whatever you have less of like if the room is mostly blue with some black funiture then do black curtains

  11. You should find pillows that are both blue, black and white. That way, the walls can stay white (saves time, money and effort) and it will pull it all together. Also, find accent pieces that can provide hints of blue.

  12. I would go with white walls and a blue/black patterned linen set.

  13. can you tell me what sort of blue is it, dark or light , this would help .

In the mean time I will try to find something that could work with what you have.Keep looking at my answers ,
