How do you put a [.gif] animation onto YouTube?

I tried uploading the animation onto YouTube and it was not able to convert the file onto a video file. I've seen many people with their animations on youtube with music....how do they do this? If you are not familiar with what I mean, go to YouTube and put in "Fan Flash"

Your question mentions going to youtube and looking up "Fan Flash.  A flash file is a .swf file, not a .gif.  Any .gif file, even an animated one, is still considered a picture file, and so youtube wont take it as it is.  Use a program like windows movie maker to make it a .avi or a flash editer to make it a .swf.
