How do you put carpet down on cement steps?

i need to know how to put strips down, or if i need to glue <dont know kind of glue> or if i do both i know nothing abt laying carpet.

plus its in two rolls do i start at top or bottom.

the carpet will cover the whole step, side to side top to bottom

  1. Depends on the type of carpet sometimes.If its a real short commercial type (no pad), most of those are glued w/ a special carpet glue spread out w/ a trowel.. Doing steps are tricky because it hard to get  them to stay while &quot;bending the carpet up and over the steps..Or down and over whichever way your going..The regular type carpet ,the most you ll find houses w/ pad you ll need to drill and s***w down the tack strip. Some construction adhesive is recommended too. You ll need a strip on the back of the step and should have one at the base of the riser too..Glue pad to steps w/ pad glue .. All you ll need is a few small lines of the glue &quot;drizzled&quot; on the step.  GL  PS  this is not an easy way to do your 1st carpet job  again GL
