  1. You do not put forward spin on a ball.....Momentum causes tha ball to roll forward.

  2. Why would you want to do that in the first place?

Topping the ball at the tee box is the most common of this type of spin as we see our best driving efforts take a leap forward, and then a dive just past the ladies tee box.

If we are talking our shot to the greens?  well, we are hitting a ball that is designed to put spin to rotate in a specific rotation.

If you want you ball to roll forward after it hits the greens, well then there is a couple of factors...hardness/softness of the greens, dull grooves on your gear, and the cover on your ball that will reduce the amount of spin the club imparts.

  3. Assuming you are right handed okay.  If your ball flight is from left to right (slice or fade) this causes the ball to backspin or die.  If your ball flight is from right to left, this causes the ball to spin forward.  If you are left handed it is the opp.

  4. Hit from inside out, with a slightly closed face at impact,  a long follow through and you will impart a " hook spin" better known as an overspin which will give you longer roll. This comes from rolling your following arm over your lead arm after impact.

  5. Come on you guy's, haven't ya'll ever seen a draw spin back? They spin to the left (right- handed player). Even a hook has back-spin to get the ball in the air. The only club you can hit a ball to impart  forward spin is a putter. Even then you would have to knock the holy-h**l out of it. Sculling shots don't count.
