How do you put freon in a refridgerator?? It is a 1998 whirlpool side by side. Need help quick.......PLZ!!!?

If your freezer is still freezing,

But your fridge is not staying cool.

Sounds more like a bad thermostat.

if the freeze works but not the fridge  you may have other problems. How cool does the freeze get, freezing? If so, you have a problem other than freon.

I had this same problem recently with a Frigidaire side-by-side.

Look in the freezer, towards the very back, under a cover and make sure your coils are not frosted over. If they are, then you'll have a cold freezer but the ice will be blocking airflow to the beer side.

If the coils are frosted then you'll need to manually defrost them with a hair dryer on LOW and find out why the automatic defrost isn't working. Luckily there are usually only 3 reasons that a defrost fails:

1) Defrost thermostat bad (most likely, cheap)

2) Defrost timer bad (rare, but it happens)

3) Defrost heater element burnt out (rare)

I think you need a licence to mess with refridgerants.

find the little slot for your defrost turn it till the compressor turn off call a service man your defrost timer and or defrost heater is out start bailing the food to a cooler your going to have to empty the freezer
