  1. I don't think you can. I know Sam's Club will put them on a DVD for you but i don't think you can. You can put a MiniDVD on a computer but not sure about the MiniDV. Good Luck!

  2. All miniDV camcorders have a firewire, i.Link, IEEE 1394 port.  You just need to find the firewire port on your computer.  Once that is done, connect your camcorder to your computer with the appropriate firewire cord - usually 4-pin to 6-pin (if your computer has a firewire port bigger than the one on your camcorder) or 4-pin to 4-pin (if your computer has the same firewire port as your camcorder).

Then you can use your video editing software to capture and edit your videos.  Windows Movie Maker comes free in Windows, and iMovie comes free on a Mac.  Additionally, Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 is available for both Macs and Windows.  Final Cut Pro is available for Macs, and there are a myriad of other programs available for PC or Mac.

  3. Assuming you have a MiniDV camcorder, it is likely that it comes with a firewire port (also called iLink/IEEE 1394) somewhere on it, if your computer has one as well then you can use a firewire cable to connect the two together. On windows you can use Movie Maker to import the footage, and on OS X you can use iMovie. This is a pretty simple process as the software usually automates the process, then once imported you can edit & export it.
