How do you put songs onto your micro sd memory...

I just got a scoop lg phone and i bought a 4 gb sandisk micro sd memory with adapter. I threw away my instructions ( not the smartest move) and I have NO idea how to put songs on the memory card! PLEASE HELP ME! thank you!
