  2. If you mean STRING in a WEED WHACKER, it depends on the model.

    A Stihl is best, you just string out 6 feet, put each end into the holes in the side of the head, and start turning the k**b in the center of the head. When it gets short, cut it at the middle, done.

    Most others you have to remove the head, then take the string and fold it in the middle. At the middle, you hook the fold around the tab in the spool. Look on the spool, you will see an arrow telling you what direction to wrap it. Be sure to put the ends through the holes in the head when putting the spool back in.

  3. This is general, you should get your owners manual or go to the manufactures web site a download (or read online) the manual, as each manufacturer is different.  You take the part that spins apart.  Some have a "clip" that has to be depressed, some have a nut.  The reel comes out of the assembly and you will have a hole to put the new line in.  There is an arrow which tells you which way to wind it.  Make sure you get the right size replacement line.
