How do you put two (2) TVs in one directv receiver? satellite?

I want to be able to watch TV outside and inside from the same receiver. Its only for one day and I want the same program (boxing); don't need to have to change channels.

Several people have said the splitter doesn't work. If it doesn't what other options do I have? I don't have the time to have directv to come out and hook up another box especially just for one day. The other tv will only be about 40 yards from the received and other TV.

Thoughts?

  1. A 2-way splitter will work fine. Coming out of your satelite receiver's "OUT TO TV" connection, s***w a short piece of coax into it. The other end of the coax will s***w into the "INPUT" of the splitter. Now, the "OUTPUT"s of the splitter will hook up to each tv.

    Good Luck!

  2. I don't see why a splitter would not work.  I have DirecTv and have 1 receiver connected to a TV in my kids playroom and to my sons bedroom with a simple splitter.  If you haven't tried it I would recommend giving it a shot.  They aren't that much.  Just try a splitter and some Coax cable.  Hope this helps.
