How do you put videos from a Hi8 tape onto a dvd?

i have a few hours worth of videos from my old sony handycam that records on Hi8 tapes, i was wondering if there was a way to put the videos onto a dvd.

  1. Hi Josh,

    You can do it with DVD Xpress.

    With DVD Xpress you can transfer your video to your hard drive and then edit it if you desire. DVD Xpress comes with basic video editing software. I got mine at Sam's for $59.95.

    You connect the composite output of your Handycam into the DVD Xpress and connect the DVD Xpress to your computer via a USB cable.

  2. go to bestbuy and buy a DVD recorder (where they sell or use to tell the VCRs) and use the standard audio/video inputs.

    You can always return the unit after you're done...might charge you a 15% restocking fee.
