do a re entry? Ive recently been able to drop into waves and ride them on an angle, but i quickly lose speed and eventually get swallowed by the soup. i see all those hotshot kingpins out there carving up a storm and re entering the wave from the crest. what are the ideal movements for re entering a wave?

  1. If you're getting swallowed by the soup, try putting more weight on your front foot. Remember that your front foot is your gas pedal and your back food is your break on a surfboard.

As far as re-entry goes, try some cutbacks first before you "exit" and re-enter waves. Put lots of weight on the gas pedal and get ahead of the wave and swing your backfoot foward with the board and then recover. Once you get that down, re-entry should come naturally.

    Hope that helps.

  2. theres really no way to explain that, it differs from wave to wave, and from surfer to surfer. to avoid getting swallowed by the soup, surf the unbroken part of the wave, along it instead of towards the beach. to gain speed when the wave is slow, pump your board from rail to rail. this can get u amazing speed and is good to prepare for most all maneuvers.

by reentering the wave you mean a bottom turn to the top of the wave, followed by riding back down it right? keep surfing and it wil come with time and practice...

  3. learn to paddel.

    Good lucky!

  4. what you need to do is stay at more then a slight angle not parralell with the wave but just about. pump up by shaking up and down. when the wave is broken stay on the soup and not in front of it. this should help

  5. learn how to pump with ur surf board thn u can do tricks
