How do you raise the pickups on an electric bass guitar?

I've been wanting to raise the pickups on my 5string Ibanez Fieldy sig for a while, any suggestions?

  1. DONT LOWER THE STRINGS!! if you want that done, get it done professionally.

    to raise or lower the pickup, there are screws at either sides of the pickup-- one to the left and one to the right. if your pickups have pickup rings (a frame that goes around the pickup) dont play with the screws around the corners, just the screws that are centered to the side.

    to raise the pickup, tighten the screws (clockwise), to lower them loosen the screws (counter-clockwise).

    after raising the pickups, make sure that when you play in clean the sound doesnt become distorted/overdriven which typically hapens after raising the pickups too high.
