How do you raise you soft palate and stop singing in ur nasal cavity?

  1. i hade trouble with singing through my nose. It was tough to over come but breath w/ your diaphram and if you dont know how to do that lie down and breathe, thats what it feels like, also try to be more open (your throat). I hope that helps.


  2. Relax your jaw. Yawn. Sing on a neutral syllable (Ah is great for females, especially as you ascend because the vowel is very open). For males Eh is good and as you ascend changing it to ih may help.

    Just keep your throat relaxed, breathe down and out using your upper and lower abdominals so you get a supported sound and are not straining your vocal cords. Tension is bad so avoid over singing, especially in the beginning. Also, pretend there's like an apple or something in the back of your throat where the palate is, thinking about it might help you keep this area open.
