I took the AP Chem exam in 2008 and earned a 4, I was wondering if your grade can DROP after you have rescored?? I feel most of my mistakes were in the Free Response but when rescoring they only check the multiple choice so should I still ask them to rescore it?? and how exactly should i go ahead doing it who do i call or email?? PS I live in London, England.

  1. In general, only ask for your test to be rescored if you expected a grade that is more than two points different from what you got.

For example, if you scored a two instead of the five you were expecting.

Otherwise it is not worth the time and money, and it is unlikely your grade will go up.

  2. why would you want to rescore it, it's just extra money and hassle, and you have a 4! don't worry, i got a 4 too. it's pretty good, what are you looking for? a 5? the prestigious colleges don't mind a 4. and if you think your mistakes were in the free response (YES same here omggggg) then you know there's no point having it rescored. if you still want to do it, the contact list for rescoring is on the sheet that you got your scores in the mail on. good luck!
