I am sick of my living room furniture but simply cannot afford to buy new furniture. How do you go about re-upholstering the couch? Where could I find cheap fabric? or could I just buy cheap furniture? and where? This is like 4 questions really. Thanks!

  1. Re-upholstering the couch is definately not something that someone without sewing experience can do. I've done my kitchen chairs before, but never a couch. Cheap fabric can be found at any fabric store (JoAnns, Hancock Fabrics, etc.)

You can find cheap furniture at a warehouse store or at a consignment shop. My cousin bought a really nice living room set for $500 at a consignment shop.

The other idea (and probably the cheapest) is getting slipcovers for everything. I did see that jcpenney.com is having a sale on them right now.

    Hope this helps. :)
