How do you read a pattern that says cut 2 of fabric and cut 2 of lining? should the fabric be rst or wst?

  1. It doesn't matter whether you have the right sides or wrong sides together. Pin the pattern piece onto fabric that is folded double and cut two of the piece that are mirror images of each other.   Mark any darts or dots for matching onto the fabric, then remove the pattern piece and repeat the process with the lining fabric.


  2. Fold fabric right sides together; that is the right side is inside.  Cut out all pieces.  Then, remove pattern pieces marking cut pieces with scrap paper with names written on them -- like bodice front, back, etc.  Use patterns pieces to cut out lining pieces.  Remember right sides together with right side inside.  Follow your pattern guide for cutting the view you want.  Good luck.  Seeya on "Project Runway."
