  1. Energy is not read, but measured. There are various forms of energy -- mechanical, chemical, electrical, thermal, etc. In addition, energy can be classified as kinetic or potential.  Many forms of energy are expressed in its mechanical equivalent, hence the units of Joules or KiloWatt-hours is very common. Mechanical energy can be calculated from the macro state of the system being measured. Chemical energy can be estimated if you know the energy released from chemical bonds being broken, usually measured in a calorimeter in the form of heat. The rate of electrical energy usage can be measured with a voltmeter and ammeter, since the product of volts and current is power. Thermometers are useful in measuring heat.

Since you're asking this in the Paranormal category, you might be referring to the commonly held idea that people have an "energy" akin to an aura or some kind of psychic force. This energy has never been shown to exist and to my knowledge there is no evidence for it. However, I'm open to any new scientific evidence of this "energy".

  2. Energy has various forms, and there are different methods for reading its diff forms

  3. I use an ohmmeter

  4. I didn't know there was a way possible.

  5. If you mean another's energy, I just feel it.  It comes in many different forms.  I can sense, get uncomfortable, when a person is "not what they would like me to believe," or they are not going to act in my best interest, or they are just down right mean, evil users of good people.  Toxic, psychic vampires, so to speak, who just suck out the energy of good people and use it for ill puposes.  It's quite draining.  I give everyone the benefit of the doubt because I am so very gullible when it comes to WORDS.  Now, when I get those feelings, I avoid that person, or eliminate all contact with them, no  matter how charming the words are.

  6. it depends what type of energy you want to read.

For example, if you want to read heat energy you should use a thermometer.

  7. I don't very often, but when I do I use an instrument designed for just such a purpose.

  8. There is a book called Hands of Light, written by Barbara Brennan.  It is about energy fields around the body.  The author can see auras.
