  1. By using a flight manual

  2. "OSHHN" is pronounced "ocean."

The fixes along the route are VORs, not airports.

"Uniform" and "victor" have their own phonetic pronunciation.

I've heard the "J" in a Jet Airway as "jay" or "Juliet."

    --Airway numbers in group form.

    "Ocean 3 Departure--Daggett Transition,

    direct echo echo delta,

    J 8

    foxtrot tango india,

    direct golf alpha golf,

    direct bravo uniform mike,

    direct sierra tango lima,

    J twenty-four

    victor hotel papa,

    J twenty-niner

    juliet hotel whiskey,

    J seventy

    lima victor zulu,

    Lendy 5 Arrival."

  4. by pronouncing each letter and number individually, they are not actually words, although this can be confusing with the sections that say "ROD" and" LENDY5" these are actually read as follows

    "R" "O" "D" and

    "L" "E" "N" "D" "Y" "5"

that should do it for ya

  5. Hope this helps http://www.trvacc.org/web/training/ref/f...

  6. The departure procedure is the OSHNN3 departure. Standard Instrument departures alow the aircraft to be routed safley after takeoff from obstacles and help noise ambiament and reduce controler workload.

After the SID, the flight in going to track the DAGGETT VORTAC, then the NEEDLES VORTAC. Both of these are in California. After that you are going to intercept high altitude airway 8 then off to the FORT UNION VORTAC after that it's to the GAGE VORTAC and then to the BUTLER VORTAC then direct to ST LOUIS VORTAC. After that it's on to High altitude airway 24 then to the BRICKYARD VORTAC then to the ROSEWOOD VORTAC then onto High altitude airway 29 then off to the JAMESTOWN VOR/DME then to High altitude airway 70 then direct to WILKES-BARRE VORTAC and after that you will follow the Standard Instrument Arrival into JFK named LENDY 5.

I used airnav.com to decode some of the VOR's.
