How do you record using a VHS?!?!?

I have a DVD/VHS combo player...and I am trying to record a fight on Direct TV using a VHS! I have no clue how to do this...does anyone know how to do this? I push record and it asks for the time and I put 2 hrs...but when it says it is recording...I playback and it is the fuzzy screen instead of regular TV

  2. I have the same problem trying to record with Direct TV. If you get an answer please let me know. I tryed to record when on and off all I get is fuzz too.
