  1. Well, Scooter sums it up.  You can buy a machine that transfers and plays both VHS and DVD at Best Buy. They are not expensive and if you have a lot of VHS, may be worth a look.


  2. Couple of different ways to do this, one is to connect your vcr up to a dvd recorder, and press play on the vcr and then record on the dvd recorder. You should have the output set to channel 3 (or the like) so that you can verify (before it's complete) that the dvd recorder is recording the tape.

    Another way to do this is to connect the vcr to your computer (you'll need a video capture card) and capture the video that way, then burn it to dvd using a dvd authoring software.

    One other way to do this, is to take it to a camera store (and assuming the vhs tapes aren't copyrighted material) they'll tansfer those to dvd for you for a fee.
