How do you record video games off the TV?

What I mean is when you play, how can I get it recorded straight off the TV so I can put it on my computer later? And how would you set it up?

  1. not completely sur but i think you put  a record able dvd or vcr tape in and press record for the time you are going to be playing on then turn on the system and i think you'll be ready to go.
