How do you record volleyball stats in a book?

I will be doing book for our high school volleyball team next fall, and I was wondering if someone could give me a heads-up on how to do it.

It depends on what the coach wants.  I would make a chart with each skill on it.  Serve, pass, set, hit, block, etc.  Then on the other side of the chart have spaces for each player, then when I player does something in the game, you just have to put a mark in the box.  You can use use o, for a bad thing, like a missed serve, or a + for a good thing like an ace.  Then if they just get a serve in put a 1.  The coach should be able to give you some ideas.  He or she will know what they want out of the stats and that will help you know how to take them.
