How do you record your desktop or internet windows with Fraps 2.9.4?

I have the full version of Fraps currently but I can only record game videos such as EverQuest 2, World of Warcraft, the Sims 2, etc. I want to know how to record other Internet windows with it though. I have Windows Vista by the way. Please make sure that your information is up to date because I have seen some answers that no longer work. Thanks.
