How do you reinforce fabric holes?

A little background- we currently use cloth diapers & throw them down the laundry shoot (sp?). We have found it's easier to hang a bag on hooks below the shoot to catch the diapers, rather than putting a basket underneath to catch them. However, a few of the holes that we have put the hooks through have ripped due to the weight of the diapers. I have to assume they sell some sort of reinforcement for fabric holes, but when we try to explain what we need at any of the fabric/craft stores- they have no idea what we are talking about. Anyone know where we could get these? I don't mind having to sew them on.

  1. You need grommets.  They are metal rings that reinforce holes.  Buy them in the notions department.  You need the whole kit so you can apply them.
