Ok, so I have thanks to some people on here got some info on blackjack basic strategy but how do you remember all the information for when you enter the casino ? even if you just refer to the little charts its hard to remember all this for when your sitting at the table and I hardly think they would let you sit with the chart anyway (also I would find it embarrasing espcially if i still lost!)

any advice on how to remember basic strategy ?

thanks !

  1. I dealt blackjack for 6 years in Las Vegas.  You can buy a cheat card at the gift shop in any casino and use it at the game.  Some casino's will even teach you how to play the game and give you pointers.....dealers will help you and so will other players.  I think you should find a low limit game and sit with some players and ask them to give you some pointers.  Players want you to play a good strategy because anything you do could adversely affect the outcome of the game.  I wish you the best of luck.

  2. dont try to be a professional, check the dealer hand ,he usually has to take a card on 16 or 17.like if he has 16 and u got 14 ur good.

  3. whenever a 7-10 is showing hit til you are between 17 and 21.3-6 stay when you reach 12 or better,of course you know what to do when an ace is showing.never buy insurance, always split aces and eights and if a 2 is showing take 1 hit only the dealer makes more hands out of deuces than any other card showing.and of course never split 10s under any circumstances.and double on 10s and 11s whenever possible.just remember those little things and you should do ok

  4. Practice, Practice, Practice....

I don't think theres any way around it except to do the hours.

  5. They will let you sit with the little card that you get at gambler's supply.  Remember the game is to let the dealer go bust.  If you have long odds of making a hand, don't hit.  Don't hit against a bust card.  3,4,5,6.  Dealer's wild card is a 2.  72% of the time when the dealer takes a card on a 2 up he makes a hand.  Never hit your mother- in law. (17).  With 16 against face or ace hit or surrender.  Any time you have a 10 or 11 against other than face or ace, double down.  If you feel it, do it.

  6. 17 or over = stay

    16 and below = hit

    simple

  7. Just play it online or with a computer game and have a strategy chart available. Check every single play as you go. It won't take you too long to have 95% of the chart memorized. Also buy a pocket sized strategy card and take it with you to the tables. It is perfectly fine for you to do this, and some dealers will even encourage you to buy a card if you're playing incorrectly.

BTW, do NOT rely on dealers or other players on difficult to remember plays. Most people know the basic stuff, but 99% of players do not play 100% correctly, and very few dealers know all of basic strategy either. If you don't believe me, next time you're at a table, ask everyone what the book says to do when you have a soft 18 vs a dealer 10. If they say,"Stand," you'll know I'm right (the correct play is to hit).

  8. Remember hit 7up.  That's it.  If dealer shows 7 and up and you don't have at least 17, hit it.  Otherwise stay.  Some people at the table play free-style blackjack, which is wrong and they may get mad at you, ignore those people.  I've been dealing in casinos for 12 years and I've seen maybe 4 or 5 people play strictly that way.  They didn't freestyle or anything, they just played that way the entire time they played.  They won thousands.  It didn't matter what the other players were doing around them, they played their game and WON!!  Most of the other players around them lost, they won.  Did they get lucky?  NO!  If it was just once or twice, I'd say yeah, but every player I've seen play pure basic strategy without any variation whatsoever has been a winner.
