  1. The problem will not be how to get the tub out. ken48b gave you excellent advice.

The problem will be replacing the tub. Unless you are putting the same tub back (still difficult), the openings on the new tub will not match the old configuration. You will need an access panel.

I've had to do this several times. On the wall behind the tub, cut a square opening between the studs. You will need to cut in such a way that you will have part of the face of the stud to nail back to. After replacing the tub, replace the piece that you cut out (or a new piece), and frame it with quarter round.

This will leave you an access panel for future use.

I've only had to do this on older homes, since the building codes here now require an access.

  2. I have seen this before. Im assuming there is an Entry point in the ajoining room. In one of the homes I owned we had the same situation. Go into the room on the opposite side of the wall from the drain. There is proply a closet on that wall. There should be a panal or the dry wall should be cut in that area and if you remove it you should have access to the tubs plumbing.......Let me know if Im right.

  3. OK first off go to hardware store and get a drain wrench..... s***w it out counter /clockwise when you get that out take a s***w driver and take off the overflow.... push overflow away from tub........ now lift tub slowly until it comes out
