  1. UNPLUG LAMP. The bulb may indeed b stuck and not yet broken. Be careful. Wrap with cloth and twist. It will or may break. Then you can use the potato method to remove base of bulb. They do make a product to litely coat the threads of new bulb so it doesn't stick again. I think it is called dielectric grease. Available at most hardware stores in small packages. Also aout parts stores. Good luck.

  2. The potato trick only works if you have a fresh potato and there is enough glass to get stuck in the potato, but it's a good trick cuz it keeps your hands and eyes away from any potential bad cuts.  If the potato doesn't work, then put on some safety glasses and leather gloves, make sure the lamp is unplugged, take a pair of needle nose pliers, pinch the center portion of the light bulb and twist it out.  You can also grab the aluminum s***w shell of the light bulb with the pliers and twist counterclockwise to get it out.  Be forewarned though, alot of glass is going to break so be careful.

  3. Is it broken? If so, cut a raw potato in half and push it onto the bulb...then you can easily remove the broken bulb.

  4. Make sure the light is turned off and get a potato and put it into the part that is broke off, I am assuming that you have broken the bulb. If you haven't broken the bulb then I am not understanding how the bulb can be stuck
