How do you remove a sink pipe that is so tight it won't budge?

The botton curved pipe under my sink must have been so old that a part of it literally crumbled today! I removed the left side but the right is so tight, it will not loosen. I tried oil, WD 40, Liquid Wrench, to no avail. Any suggestions how to loosen this thing!!

Thank you!

  1. Have you tried tapping the area with a hammer first.  Then, use the hammer to hit the wrench to loosen it.

  2. try to heat the nut or cut it out with a sawzall

  3. you can also try:

slide a 12" piece of metal pipe over the handle of the pipe wrench to increase the leverage.

heat the nut with a torch to loosen the corrosion, then tap the nut with a hammer.

make sure you are using pipe wrenches, one on nut one on pipe. far more torque, and it will tighten on the nut as you turn it.

    Hope that helps.
