  1. Check the wax ring between the toilet and flange first. Pretty easy to change. Shut the water off and drain what you can. Pull it up. Should be just 1 fastner on each side the base.  Just clean up the old ring and area really well, and install the new wax ring. Reinstall and sit on the toilet and move around a little to seat the wax gasket.

  2. If you mean the actual flange, not the ring gasket, you have to cut the ABS below the flange, add a connector and a new piece of pipe, and then the new flange.

Best done through the cieling below!

  3. It is not easy. The damage done if not done properly can be double difficult to repair.

I cut out a sliver of the inside of a PVC flange and chip/pry it off - from inside/outside the fitting. Clean existing pipe and pray the new flange sits fully to the floor as I glue it down.

    Good luck!

  4. all these answers are good for ABS--but if you got cast iron flange it s different,,, most cast iron flanges were leaded on,,you have to take a small chisel,,cut out the lead,,remove the broke flange ,,you can buy a replacement  flange,,,  that does not have to be leaded  back on,,,it slides on the pipe and has a rubber gasket to hold it in place,,,you may have to go to a plumbing wholesale supply house to find it,,,also you can buy  just the  top ring on the flange,,no need to remove old flange,,,it  comes in 2 pieces,,slide it under the existing  ring  line up the holes and  reset the comode  ,,this is for repairing,,,flanges that are in concrete  slab,,,
