How do you remove caulk from around the bathroom sink?

My bathroom sink is not even. So I want to remove the caulk and level it.

  1. Get a plastic putty knife/scraper from the hardware store.  It won't scratch laminate countertop, if that's what you've got.  It will require a fair bit of force to run the scraper under the caulk, but it can be done.


  2. A razor knife is the easiest tool I have found to remove the caulk.

    I have a web site that explains in detail how to remove and install caulk.  The info is free.

  4. Try GOOF-OFF or OOPS, sold at Home Depot, and other places. Its made by the same company. Put it on by the directions, wait until it softens the caulk. You can use a straight edge razor blade to carefully scrape away the old caulk. A window scraper with the blade in it gives more control. Also you can just use the scraper, its just a little more work. (keep the scraper at an angle so you don't dig into the counter top)
